01. Prof. AlexandraBiography: Civil Engineer from the Federal University of Goiás (1995). Master in Environmental Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1997). Ph.D. in Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2003). She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and has experience in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering in both technological and environmental management fields. Regarding the technological area, the professor acts in water resources, especially groundwater contamination and monitoring, as well as in sanitation in sanitary sewage systems and urban drainage fields. Concerning the environmental management area, the professor works with environmental risk assessment applied to underground contamination, life cycle analysis and in the application of environmental impact assessment tools.

02. Prof. ArmandoBiography: Sanitary and Environmental Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1983). Ph.D. in urban and industrial solid waste management and treatment from the Institut National des Sciences Appliques de Lyon, France (1988). The professor did postdoc study at the University of California, Davis, at the Biomass Laboratory (2012) and a research internship at the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada (2006). He coordinated the Southern Regional Network of the National Network of Training and Technological Extension in Basic Sanitation – ReCESA. The professor also coordinated the National Solid Waste Research Network of the Basic Sanitation Research Program of FINEP / PROSAB (4 years) and international cooperation projects with France (CAPES / COFECUB) (4 years), and with the Republic of Cameroon (PROAFRICA / CNPq). Coordinator of the undergraduate course in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of UFSC (1994 – 1996). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Environmental Engineering of UFSC (2002 – 2004). Head of the Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of UFSC (2010 – 2011). Professor of the Superior Magisterium of the Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1992 – current). Full Professor (2015). 06. Prof. LapolliBiography: Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina since 1976. Civil Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1976). Worked as an engineer at Companhia Catarinense de Aguas e Saneamento – CASAN between 1980 and 1999. At the same time, he was a part-time professor at UFSC, teaching subjects regarding Environmental Sanitation in the Civil Engineering and Architecture. Holds a master’s degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1993). Ph.D. in Hydraulic Engineering and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo (1998) with an inter-university exchange program fulfilled at the Universite de Montpellier II (Scien et Tech Du Languedoc) (1997). He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina and a Researcher at CNPq since August 2003. Participates in the direction of the Brazilian Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering – Santa Catarina Section. In December 2008, was elected to be the coordinator of the graduate program in Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, acting as a representative of the Graduate Chamber and University Council of the Federal University of Santa Catarina until December 2012. From November 30, 2013, was head of the Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of UFSC, for a period of 02 years. Has experience in the area of Sanitary Engineering, with emphasis on Treatment of Water Supply and Wastewater, working mainly on the following topics: disinfection, stabilization ponds, sanitary sewage, membranes, and advanced treatment technologies focused at water treatment and reuse.

Biography: Sanitary and Environmental Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2007). Master and Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Has experience in the field of atmospheric sciences and data analysis. Master’s degree regarding statistical techniques to identify emission sources of air pollutants. Ph.D. theme related to the development of parameterization of lateral dispersion coefficients in air quality models. The professor works mainly on the following topics: pollutant dispersion modeling, meteorological modeling, air quality monitoring, statistical modeling, and data analysis. Prof. Maria AngelesBiography: Research Productivity Scholar at CNPq PQ-Level 2, Associate Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) – Campus de Araranguá and Accredited Professor at the Graduation Program in Environmental Engineering at the same University. Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid-Spain (1990). Post-Doc studies at the University of Montpellier II – France (1991) and at The Higher Council for Scientific Research – Spain (2002). Works in the area of Chemistry, with emphasis in Environmental Chemistry, mainly in the treatment of water for water supply and wastewater. Coordinator of research projects and graduation counselor. Between 1989 and 2012, participated in 22 research projects and 6 university extension projects. The professor has published 32 articles in specialized periodicals, 6 book chapters and 59 papers in events annals. Translated 4 undergraduate level chemistry books. Scientific Editor of the Molecular and Supramolecular Bioinorganic Chemistry: Applications in Medical and Environmental Sciences book series, Nova Science Publishers, Inc., New York. MARIA ELISA MAGRI
Area of Expertise: Treatment of water and domestic, industrial and agricultural effluents.
Biography: Sanitary and Environmental Engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC (2006). Master (2009) and Ph.D. (2013) in Environmental Engineering from the same institution, with an inter-university Ph.D. exchange program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences – SLU, Sweden. Post-doc in Biotechnology and Biosciences (2013-2014) and Environmental Engineering (2016). The professor has worked on the undergraduate and graduate levels, teaching as an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Lavras – UFLA (MG), and Professor at the Educational Society of Santa Catarina (SOCIESC Faculty). She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at UFSC. Works on basic and environmental sanitation research, specifically addressing the following topics: sanitation focused on resource recovery – sewage separation; technologies for treatment, sanitation and utilization of human feces and urine, gray water, sewage sludge and swine manure, with a focus on the production of biofertilizers; microbiology applied to the sanitation with the study of modeling and kinetics of inactivation of pathogenic microorganisms and quantitative evaluation of microbiological risk.

12. Prof. MauricioBiography: Associate Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC since 1983 and Full Professor since 1996. Leader of the research group on water treatment of UFSC at CNPq. Sanitary Engineer from UFSC (1982); Diploma in Intensive Studies and Ph.D. in water treatment at the Ecole Nationale Superiéure de Chimie de Rennes, Université de Rennes I (France, 1991). Postdoc study regarding the removal of cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins at the University of Limoges (France, 2007). Supervisor of the LAPOA – Water Treatment Research Laboratory (UFSC) and Coordinator of the Research Laboratory of Water Treatment of Lagoa do Perí (Partnership between UFSC and CASAN – Companhia Catarinense de Água e Saneamento). Professor of water supply treatment in the undergraduate and graduate programs at UFSC. Coordinated more than 45 research projects related to water supply treatment, most of them in technological development. Permanent Professor in the Undergraduate Course in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering and Graduation course in Environmental Engineering (Ph.D. and Master’s degrees) of UFSC. Supervisor of the Laboratory of Liquid and Gaseous Effluents. Research fellow at CNPq. Consultant ad hoc at CAPES and CNPQ. Reviewer of national and international journal articles. Development of projects with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company – EMBRAPA and the Research and Rural Extension Company of Santa Catarina – EPAGRI. Prof. RejaneBiography: Rejane Helena Ribeiro da Costa completed her Ph.D. in Water Quality and Treatment at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA, Toulouse, France) in 1989, and did a post-doc study at the Université Montpellier I (Montpellier, France) in 2000. Full Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Participates in the Graduation Program in Environmental Engineering at UFSC, where she manages Ph.D. and master’s degree researches. Worked as a full member of the Environmental Sciences Assessment Committee of CNPq and the Evaluation Committee of the Graduation Courses of Engineering I of CAPES (2011-2014). Author of several articles in international and national journals and in annals of scientific congresses. Currently coordinates 4 research projects. The professor works in the area of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, with emphasis on the Treatment of Water Supply and Wastewater. The professor joined UFSC in 1998, where he is a full professor of the department of sanitary and environmental engineering. He was head of the undergraduate course collegiate, head of the department of sanitary and environmental engineering and coordinator of the graduate program in environmental engineering. Worked as a visiting professor teaching at the post-doc level (2003-2004) at the École Polytechnique de Montréal (Canada). Works in the area of environmental management, with emphasis on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and solid waste.
